It’s been a while since I spent some time drawing dresses. I kind of miss it. I did this one sometime in the winter.

Portrait of a friend, 2011, oil on canvas
I forgot that I had given this to another friend with whom I’m staying. It’s still one of my favorites.
Self-portrait update: The shoulders aren’t right yet, which is fine because I’m thinking of making some kind of layered pattern for them, but I think I fixed the nose and my lips. I’ve got to tackle the eyes and hair a bit more, and add layers to my forehead. I’m definitely not a good judge of what I look like, so I’ve really no idea if this is progressing to look look anything like me. But I guess if this is how I see myself, I think I’m ok with that for now. I’ll post quality photos soon. T.T.F.N. and while I’m at it, D.F.T.B.A.
I posted this to my regular blog. Whoops. Enjoy.

Portrait of my great-grandfather, oil on canvas, 2011
Ah progress. Slowly but surely it’s acquiring the distinct quality of doneness. I applied more beads and puff paint to this piece last night. Such fun.
Self-portrait progress… It’s getting there. I think.
Sometimes it’s really frustrating to wait and watch while I make progress, but sometimes it’s really kind of fun. Last year I made a new piece almost every week or every other week. It’s kind of nice to be patient with this piece. I’ll upload some better photos of it soon.
Visions of Spring, 2013
I took a trip around the neighborhood parks last weekend and was happy to see at least some of mother nature was listening to the official start of spring.
